The weekend of May 31st. There was a minor crack in weld on my downtube. James, the master craftsman and builder of Black Sheep Bikes fixed it right up. I made the quick trip to Fort Collins into a mountain bike exploration opportunity. After the fix, I decided to head to Salida Co. I heard there was good biking near Salida. I was not disappointed. (My original plan was to ride in Breckenridge. Well, still snowing in the mountains. Breckenridge was a mud mess.) So, who is the dude in the picture above. Some ugly dude that just saw a wolf. No joke. I was riding along a trial, probably mile 30 for the day. I turned a corner and CRAP, a wolf was staring right at me. The wolf walked right up at me and looked up and kept on going. Nuts! Some may say “No Way”. Maybe, maybe not. Your weren’t there, cynical jerk. It could have been a ‘big dog’, but 10 miles from civilization? Who knows. Who cares. It was a wicked experience. Below are two links. Why 2? Why not?
Black Sheep Fix It Trip #1
Oh yeah, one more thing. I found my favorite bar in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD. OK, it’s one of the best. I won’t get carried away. But it is on the Arkansas River and you can see a monster 14er in the background. Awesome. Plus, they now have Dale’s Pale Ale on tap.
